This is Blooming Patches CSA Farm

Farm Produce and Other Products

Blooming Patches is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Farm.   We support ourselves, and other farms who have joined with us, by pre-selling our harvest via an annual membership, purchased in advance of the growing season.

For 2011, we are accepting memberships until they are sold out.   Membership runs from May 1st to April 30th of each year.   A membership costs $150 for a specific amount of harvest.   If you go through your membership before the season is over, you may add to your membership.

Please CONTACT US by telephone or e-mail if you wish to discuss CSA membership.

You will want to start planning now for your 2011 membership. We require the first payment of $75.00 by December 31, 2010.

We also sell our surplus produce and other items to non-CSA members.

We can now accept WIC (Women Infants & Children) Summer fruit and vegetable vouchers, and the year-round fruit and vegetable coupon.  We can also accept the Geauga County Seniors voucher program.

Location

Blooming Patches CSA Farm is located at 14518 Ravenna Road in Newbury Township, Geauga County, Ohio. 44065.   Telephone number: 216-276-1715 (cell).   We are located on Route 44, just north of Route 87, on the West side of the road.

My Methods

Blooming Patches CSA Farm is committed to helping organic and sustainable farmers (including my own farm) to survive and thrive.   My methods are organic and/or natural.   I believe that healthy natural soil makes healthy plants and animals, free of disease and harmful insects.   Mineral-rich soil not only helps plants and animals to be healthy, but also leads to more nutritious and flavorful food.

At Blooming Patches CSA Farm, I test the soil before the growing season, and test crops during the cycle using the BRIX testing protocol.   To learn more about BRIX, please go to the "About Our CSA Farm - High BRIX Farming" tab on this website.

Purchasing A Membership In My Harvest

Generally, I sell my CSA Annual Memberships in the Fall through Winter.   Sometimes, memberships are still available even into May.   However, when they're sold out, they're gone.

I may be able to accommodate some sales of produce and goods to non-members, but please call me first before you stop out. I reserve most products for distribution to my farm's CSA members.

Click on the "Annual Membership" tab to learn more about purchasing an annual CSA membership so you can enjoy my wholesome and naturally grown vegetables, melons, and other produce.

CSA members are also first in line to purchase (on a cash basis) edible items such as berries, fresh chicken, eggs, organic home made baked goods, local natural cheese, and our home made jelly.   In addition, we offer other hand made items such as beeswax candles and wood fret work decorative items.

From the Farm to YOU!

Currently, all members of this CSA farm come to the farm in Newbury to pick up produce and goods each week.   Many of the CSA members who live geographically close to each other arrange to take turns picking up their weekly goods.

We are now able to take WIC and the Federal Senior and Geauga Senior Vouchers.   These programs generally operates from June to November.   We can accept WIC coupons the entire year for fresh fruits and vegetables.   Ohio is the first State to allow WIC coupons all year-round for fresh fruits and vegetables.
